Free advice at Council House
Disability Direct is now providing a free advice and form filling service to disabled people within Derby City Councils brand new Council House.
The charitys free drop-in information service at the new Council House, offers advice and signposting for disabled people in Derby, their families, friends, carers and professionals, on a range of issues including equipment, adaptions, holidays, home support, respite, transport, sport, disability discrimination, activities and carers rights.
Disability Directs services in the new building also include a free welfare rights and form filling service for disabled people and their families who are residents of Derby. Appointments are available at the Council House to discuss and complete paperwork for the Disability Learning Allowance, Carers Allowance, Attendance Allowance and Employment Support Allowance, alongside benefits checks. The services, available at the Council House Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, are managed by members of Disability Directs expert team, including its Information Officer and Assistant, BME Officers, Disability Discrimination Officer, Personal Assistant Register Coordinator, Welfare Rights and Benefits Officer, Carers Support Worker and Safe & Well Project Coordinator.
