The Community Cares project is available to the local community of Derby City. Although it was initially created to support the most vulnerable in our society during the pandemic, the need for help still continues, and so does the project.
We support disabled and elderly people who are not currently provided with Home Care by the local authority, have no family or whose family live far away and cannot support them.
Working with a team of volunteers, we provide companionship, shopping, transport, walks out or just regular phone calls.
We also offer support to those who may have difficulty in reading and writing with their letters and appointments and for those with no access to the internet we can set up online shopping, registering for the Doctors, applying for Blue Badges etc.
Our long-term aim is to bring independence back to the lives of those people who have been forgotten by working with other agencies, local providers and community groups.
