At Disability Direct, we have been proudly working with volunteers and catering to work experience applicants since the day our doors opened and we want to continue giving the local community opportunities to contribute to a great cause!

All our positions are tailored to an applicants needs as we want to ensure the best working environment for all.

Join our Advocacy team to support disabled people in having a say!

We are looking for someone who can listen, engage and support people who need it most. 

Do you enjoy being in the great outdoors? 

Plot to Plate need your help with supporting participants in our accessible allotment.

Our Hospital Discharge team is looking for someone who can drive our Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle to and from hospital appointments.

Are you a disabled person who wants to get back into an office enviroment?

Our Head Office needs a admin support role filling.

WORK EXPERIENCE

We offer a range of work experience opportunities for people looking to build skills, explore future careers, or get involved in meaningful community work. Placements provide hands‑on experience within a friendly, inclusive environment, giving you the chance to support disabled people across the region while learning how a charity operates day‑to‑day.

By joining our team, you’ll be able to develop practical skills, meet new people, and gain insight into different areas of the organisation. Whether you’re interested in office‑based tasks, creative projects, or direct support roles, there are plenty of ways to get involved involved.

Areas You Can Get Involved In

  • Marketing – Assist with community outreach, social media content, and awareness campaigns.
  • Operations – Support daily service delivery, help organise activities, and learn about project coordination.
  • Administration – Gain experience with enquiries, paperwork, scheduling, and general office support.
  • Support Work – Work alongside experienced staff to provide person‑centred support and help promote independence.
  • Horticultural Therapy – Take part in therapeutic gardening sessions that encourage wellbeing, skills development, and confidence.
