HELPING TO EMPOWER CARERS

We hold Carers Clinics across Derby and Derbyshire, working in collaboration with other services to ensure unpaid and paid carers are recognised and championed for the work they do.

Our Carers Champion is here to help empower carers to know they matter, and their care is part of our job. They are often the forgotten support to a disabled person and in many cases put their own needs second. We give the space to think about their needs and the tangible help to access the support they are entitled to.

Suneeta, Our carers Champion has a vast knowledge and experience in the social care sector and as an unpaid carer. She believea that unpaid carers deserve vital recognition for all the hard work that they do as vital partners in care.

Carers require clear information about their rights and what services are available to them and how to navigate the Health and Social care systems.

Emotional support for Unpaid Carer’s is crucial, whether it’s through support groups, counselling, therapy sessions or mental health resources. This support is pivotal to prevent isolation and burnout.
